Research update
The LGMD2L Foundation has signed an agreement with Virginia Commonwealth University to develop a disease model of LGMD2L. This model, developed using lab mice, will enable us to develop and test possible treatments for the disease.
The VCU team has a strong track record of research on other muscular diseases and the Foundation is thrilled to announce our collaboration.
The cost of the research project is approximately $25,000. Thanks to a generous family with two children suffering from LGMD2L, the first $12,500 we receive in donations to pay for the research will be matched 100%.
